Zombie Runner

Why We Picked Zombie Runner

Zombie Runner is built around the route through the level, and the level design does the explaining that the text does not. Difficulty comes from the layout rather than the controls, so a bad run is usually a bad route. The levels are short because the interest is in the route, not the distance. It ranks 427 of 500 on the arcade shelf, which is crowded with longer, slower games. The page's own numbers: 4.0 out of 5 from 5 ratings.

How to Play

The page documents very little, so these are the things worth knowing before you spend time on it:

• If the cursor will not reach the game, click inside the frame once first.
• Get through the route in one piece; the retry is cheaper than the detour.
• Look at the whole screen before moving; the exit is usually drawn rather than signposted.

Editor’s Note

A short session suits it; a long one will exhaust the levels before it exhausts you. Fullscreen matters more here than on the arcade shelf, since the visible edge of the level is information.
