Why We Picked Rope Draw
Rope Draw puts the board and the space left on it on one screen and then lets the board do the arguing. Early boards forgive almost anything; later ones ask you to plan around pieces you have not seen yet. Closer to a crossword than to an action game, and better for the comparison. We kept it because the board stays readable at every size, which is rarer than it sounds. On the record: 1,221 plays, 3.9 out of 5 from 31 ratings, and 108 of 172 on the puzzle shelf.
How to Play
The page documents very little, so these are the things worth knowing before you spend time on it:
- Reload once if the embed stalls; the second load is usually clean.
- Clear whatever the level asks you to clear, and count the space that the clear gives back.
- Hold the board in your head; writing it down is slower than reading it.
Editor’s Note
It runs in the tab you already have open, on desktop or phone, and asks for nothing else. Puzzle pages tend to be light, which is why the larger boards still open quickly on a phone with a weak connection.
