Ricochet Arrow
Why We Picked Ricochet Arrow
Ricochet Arrow asks for a good first ten seconds and then a better next ten, and that is the entire design. The run ends when it ends; until then it is aiming and firing, and the only thing that carries over is a higher number. Nothing here is complicated; it is just fast. It stays because the restart is instant, and instant restarts are the whole economy of arcade games. By the numbers: 482 of 500 on the arcade shelf, 5.0 out of 5 from 3 ratings, and 144 plays.
How to Play
The game is small enough to explain in three lines:
- Aim with the pointer and fire; there is no reload to manage.
- Survive as long as the game allows and let the number measure it.
- Stop after a run that makes you angry; the next attempt is usually worse.
Editor’s Note
No save, no progression, no reason to come back except the number — which is usually enough. It asks for one clean input and punishes a sloppy one, which is the whole contract.
