Noob vs Blue Monster

Why We Picked Noob vs Blue Monster

The route through Noob vs Blue Monster is the game: the route through the level, with checkpoints close enough that a mistake costs seconds. Every level is short enough to retry without resentment, which is the real difficulty setting. It reads as a place rather than a level, which is a harder trick than it looks. We kept it because the map is small enough to remember and large enough to explore. By the numbers: 484 of 500 on the arcade shelf, 5.0 out of 5 from 1 ratings, and 143 plays.

How to Play

The page documents very little, so these are the things worth knowing before you spend time on it:

• Check the frame's own mute and pause buttons before assuming the page has frozen.
• The level points you at the exit; the work is the route between here and there.
• Use the fullscreen view; the edges of the level matter as much as the middle.

Editor’s Note

A short session suits it; a long one will exhaust the levels before it exhausts you. Because levels are short, closing the tab mid-run costs less here than almost anywhere else on the site.
