Why We Picked Neon Shot
Neon Shot is the sort of arcade game you lose before you have worked out what the score rewards. Shallow the way a good joke is shallow: it lands, and then it is over. Checkpoints are rare, which sounds harsh and is, in fact, the point. It kept its slot by never asking you to learn anything that dying once would not teach. On the record: 282 of 500 on the arcade shelf, 4.1 out of 5 from 88 ratings, and 3,149 plays.
How to Play
Three rules cover almost everything this game asks of you:
- A slow drag is safer than a quick one when the board is nearly full.
- A run ends when you are caught, and the score is the only thing that survives it.
- Do not chase the score until the pattern feels boring.
Editor’s Note
It suits a break between tasks and punishes anyone who plays it while talking. Most run on the keyboard or a single pointer; a few accept touch, and none need a controller or a download.

“Neon Shot” is a very fun casual game in NEON Style that will test your skills and reasoning. With a “Drag and Drop” system you can pull the elastic to make the ball bounce and knock down the targets. Try to finish each level with as few balls as possible to get more points. You can pop boxes of TNT explosives to break more than one target at the same time and save balls. The designs are beautiful and colorful.
