Why We Picked JumpJump
What JumpJump asks for is a single well-timed input, repeated under mild pressure, and it never pretends otherwise. Deaths are cheap and immediate, which is what makes the next attempt easy to start. Thin, fast, and honest about it: the loop is the whole game. We kept it because the input feels right before the art has finished loading. For reference: 147 plays, 5.0 out of 5 from 3 ratings, and 471 of 500 on the arcade shelf.
How to Play
Three things decide whether a run here goes well:
- Hold to build power and release to spend it; tapping does nothing.
- The next attempt starts from zero, which is why the first few seconds carry most of the weight.
- Restart on purpose when a run starts badly instead of nursing it.
Editor’s Note
The keyboard is the better input here, though it works on a phone in a pinch. There is nothing to unlock and nothing to lose, which is why the restart button gets used so often.
