Bouncing Bug

Why We Picked Bouncing Bug

Bouncing Bug is one action repeated until the run ends, and the score is the only thing that survives it. keeping the run alive is the job, repeated under mild pressure until the pressure stops being mild. It looks easier than it plays, which is most of its charm. Nothing about it is memorable except the score, and the score is what you came for. By the numbers: 143 plays, 5.0 out of 5 from 3 ratings, and 483 of 500 on the arcade shelf.

How to Play

The page documents very little, so these are the things worth knowing before you spend time on it:

• Switch to a wired connection if the frame keeps reloading itself in the middle of a round.
• A run ends when you are caught; the score carries over and nothing else does.
• If you are stuck at the same point, change a habit rather than all of them.

Editor’s Note

Short bursts suit it; long sessions expose how little the game has to say. Because a run resets, an arcade page can be closed at any moment without losing progress that never existed.
